Orr Farm's 700-acres and 25+ miles of Nature trails just outside of Waverly, Alabama is a perfect place for you to visit. Whether on horseback, hiking, or just walking a dog, you are sure to discover the rejuvenation of mind, body, & soul that only sweet Mother Nature can provide. Orr Farm Rescue was started on family-owned land that has been in the Orr Family for 200 years. The trails and trail loops here are named after the family members that helped build and care for the farmland as well as care for the livestock that they raised here. Many of the family members rode Indian motorcycles to attend college classes at Auburn University so the trails are marked Orange for Intermediate and Blue for Beginner in honor of them being Auburn Alumni. The two directors live in the old sharecropper's cabin located on site and they oversee the care of the animals and the land. All of your attention will be captivated by the good energy and peace that resides here at the Sanctuary when you visit whether that is to walk the trails, ride the trails on your horse, or walk your dog here. The Orr Farm Sanctuary is good for your mind, body, and soul. Come find out for yourself! Orr Farm Rescue & Sanctuary operates solely on donations, sponsorship funds, fundraising events, and trail use daily passes and memberships and the upkeep is fully provided through the hard work of the directors who take no salary and a handful of dedicated volunteers. Every dollar raised and every volunteer hour makes a difference for the rescue animals here and the wildlife on the farm and is greatly appreciated!!
